Portrait of US: Issue #11
Savannah, GA 2022
As we get ready for our upcoming show at Sulfur Studios in Savannah, GA we’ve been thinking a lot about our time there last year. While it was not the first community that we took our project to, (that honor goes to North Hero, VT) it was Savannah where we saw what the project could look like. We photographed and interviewed around forty people in four weeks, put on a successful pop up show, and really got to know a community. It set the stage for the next 10 months.
One of the best things for us about being in Savannah was how walkable the neighborhood around the studio is. We got to wander and find our favorite spots to take portraits, usually involving brick buildings and Spanish Moss.
